BHPAL Middle School Girls Volleyball - Fall 2022

Registration is now open for 6th, 7th and 8th grade (2022-23 school year) girls for the Fall 2022 volleyball season. The season begins on September 7 and ends on of October 26. The focus of this volleyball program is to teach basic volleyball skills (serving, passing, setting and hitting technique) and game rules. Our primary goal is for the girls to have fun and to love playing volleyball! The players will be placed on in-town teams with practices and games on Monday and Wednesday evenings. You will receive your team assignment at the end of August.

The cost for participation is $150, includes a uniform t-shirt and referees. No registration will be accepted after September 1st.

As with all BHPAL programs, our success depends on parent volunteers to coach. Please consider volunteering, especially if you have volleyball experience!! We will have a coaches clinic and meeting the week of August 28th. It is a short season and lots of fun!

Please note, this program is available to Berkeley Heights and Mountainside residents only.

We are looking forward to another great volleyball season! Please contact Jim Kwan ( ) with any questions.

2022 Highlander Youth Tackle Football (3rd - 8th Grade)

The program is open to Berkeley Heights and Mountainside students in grades 3-8. Players will be assigned to the following team levels depending on grade:

Competitive levels with scorekeeping, playoffs, and a Super Bowl:

  • A Team – Grade 8
  • B Team – Grade 7
  • C Team – Grade 6
  • D Team – Grade 5

Instructional level – live games teaching fundamentals in a competitive environment:

  • E Team – Grades 3 & 4

Please note: to ensure all players are able to play at their age/grade-appropriate level, the Highlander Youth Football program will continue to merge teams, when necessary, with the New Providence Pioneer Youth Football Program. At any grade level, if either program does not have enough players to field a team, the two programs will merge for that grade level. The program with the greater number of players will typically field the team, which also dictates when and where that grade level practices, and which program's uniforms are worn.

The season will begin August 15th. Highlander teams will begin summer practices Monday-Thursday evenings at Snyder Field. Practices are held 2-3 times per week once school begins. Teams will play a total of 8 regular season games – typically scheduled on Sundays. Other Key Dates:

  • TBD July/August: Equipment & Uniform Fitting
  • August 29th (week of): League-Wide Scrimmages
  • September 11th: Season Opener
  • November 6th: Playoffs (Levels A-D only)
